Assistance for OIO Process

We can facilitate your investment in New Zealand

If you are considering investing in New Zealand, we can help you. Our government encourages foreign investment, but there is an application process if your acquisition involves:

  1. Sensitive land (this covers a wide range of land, namely non-urban areas greater than 5 hectares, or any land that includes or adjoins bodies of water or other sensitive areas such as land administered by the Department of Conservation;
  2. Business assets or securities with a value greater than $100M NZD; or
  3. Fishing quotas.

If you are an overseas investor considering or already in the process of purchasing land, we are able to determine if the land will be considered ‘sensitive’ and whether you will be required to make an application for approval by the Overseas Investment Office (OIO).

We have extensive experience assisting a wide range of investors with the consent process and we will ensure that if required, your application is well prepared in a cost effective and efficient manner.
